Staging Your Home To Sell Faster!

 

Staging your home properly is an important decision in getting your home SOLD faster.  A home that "catches the eye"  will get more attention.  Listed below are some simple tips to put your home at the top of the buyer's list:

  • Very important...make sure your exterior and interior entryways are clean and inviting.  This is the area of "first impression."  If needed, pressure wash outside, replace light bulbs, new fixtures, paint and/or caulk, replace doormats and/or rugs.  Place a colorful wreath or flower arrangement at the entrance.  This little addition will draw attention to the home.
  • Remove clutter from each room.  This will allow possible buyers to envision their belongings in the home and make the rooms more spacious.
  • Depersonalize by removing personal photos and momentos.  After all, you want the buyer to be looking at the home, not looking at your personal items.
  • Remove all pet and smoke odors.
  • Inside, clean all light bulbs and fixtures to brighten the home
  • Wash all windows inside and out.
  • Clean carpets and other flooring.  If needed, clean carpet (restretch if necessary) or replace in a neutral color.
  • Putty over and paint any nail holes in the walls.  Paint all interior walls in a neutral color to brighten the home and make it look bigger.
  • Keep your home dusted and vacuumed at all times.  Replace your heat and a/c filter on a regular basis.
  • Air out your home for one-half hour (if needed) before showings.  Lightly spray the house with air freshener, or put those yummy cookies in the oven.
